Lunar New Year Disneyland 2022

It's the year of the tiger and Disney California Adventure is celebrating with food, parades, and more!

Here is your complete guide to all things Lunar New Year this year.

Marketplaces

These are the most instagram worthy, must-try foods of festival.

Tip: The Sip and Savor pass, sold at any booth, will give you 6 tabs redeemable for any food or non alcoholic beverage for $43. If you are a Magic Key Holder, the discount is $3 off!

Longevity Noodle Co.

This booth had the longest line, but it was well worth it. They have Garlic Noodles, and Spicy Pork Dandan Noodles for those who are adventurous with heat. The Garlic Noodles would be great for picky eaters, or if you're looking for a great comfort food snack.

Lucky 8 Lantern

The Shrimp Fried Rice with garlic bacon edamame was my favorite dish at the festival. It's a traditional fried rice, with lots of shrimp and veggies. The Beef Bulgogi Short Rib was also fantastic, with really nice flavor. I also tried the Soju Peach Yuja-Ade which was a sweet refreshing drink. The colors made it very Instagrammable, but it was a little too sweet for me.

Prosperity Bao and Buns

As a lover of all Mickey-shaped foods, this Mickey Chinese Hot Dog Bun was a winner. I came in with low expectations, as this seemed like the least flavorful option, but the bun was surprisingly soft and delicious. the BBQ Pork Bao was another great dish, with perfect BBQ flavor, and a nice amount of spice.

Red Dragon Spice Traders

If you like spicy food, the Spicy Three-Cup Chicken is the perfect dish. It's filling, with great flavor, and loaded with spice. I would not recommend this if you aren't a fan of spicier foods. I didn't have the chance to try the Impossible Meatballs, but this is a great alternative for those who would prefer a vegetarian option.

Sights

Parade

Keep an eye out on the main path between the festival booths, because every now and then a parade to celebrate the year of the tiger comes through! The parade is led by Tigger, who is extra excited to celebrate this year. In the parade you can also find classic Disney characters in traditional Chinese outfits, and the characters from Mulan.

Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon can also be found in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

Heading Towards Paradise Gardens you can find an interactive display where guests can write their wishes for the new year on Mickey shaped papers. Every wall is filled with the wishes that guests have hung up. This is must-do stop during the festival for a wholesome view on the year to come.

Magic Key Holders

There's extra fun in store for those Magic Key Holders visiting during the Lunar New Year! Check out the pavillion under the Silly Symphony Swings for a Magic Key exclusive area with photo opportunities and complimentary buttons.

Happy Year of the Tiger everyone!
